The audio cd of this sounds absolutely terrible. Chuck Ds vocals sound just wrong and slowed down I'm hoping the blu ray is better the audio on the cd is choppy and poorly edited and in no way a testament to indeed the GREATEST & most INFLUENTIAL rap band that ever was. No not "GANGSTA".
RAP... massive difference. It was all about positivity and equality back when "it takes a nation of millions to hold us back" & "fear of a black planet" dropped. As a frustrated white kid of 12 who'd just lost his father I found a much needed POSITIVE voice i music from POSITIVE rap pioneers like Chuck D & Flav, KRS ONE, Big Daddy Kane, Eric B & Rakim, ICE-T, then sadly later it just became all about bling and misogyny later on with so many, with the shock value as opposed to the real message in that we are all brothers and sisters, colour isn't an issue unless you make it one, and positivity and equality is the only way anything can progress. Much love to a truly fantastic band like Public Enemy that stopped a lunatic white kid becoming a Public Enemy....yeaaaaahhhhhhhh boyeeeeee
Five stars for the band only. Hope the blu ray kicks the cd is rubbish. Buy the special edition of "it takes a nation of millions to hold us back" instead...im pushing 50 and it still gives me goosebumps. One of THE best albums ever not just one the BEST rap albums ever one of THE best albums EVER made... period as I believe some would say...period I mean as in the word period
